FerriStat is a 20% Ferric Sulphate haemostatic gel which effectively eliminates gingival bleeding.

Achieving thorough haemostasis is crucial to prevent any disruption caused by bleeding during the impression-taking stage, which could compromise the accuracy of the dental impression.
When employing FerriStat, a 20% ferric sulphate solution, profound haemostasis can be attained immediately as the solution functions by forming plugs within the incised capillaries, effectively ensuring haemostasis and minimising any bleeding concerns. FerriStat is also helpful when bleeding occurs whilst completing a buccal restoration.

As at August 2021 and recommended in the Australian Dental Association document “Managing Covid-19 Guidelines” it states that “We recommend that prior to commencing treatment all patients should be asked to undertake a 20-30 seconds pre-procedural mouthrinse with 1% hydrogen peroxide mothrinse".
