Operative Carbides

Round
Ideal for initial entry, excavating infected dentin, extending preparation walls, creating retentive features, and endodontic access. Smaller head diameters help create ultra-conservative preparations.

Pear
Creates a preparation with converging walls and round internal line angles. Ideal for creating mechanical retention and maintaining full-length enamel rod margins on pit and fissure surfaces.

Amalgam Prep
Offers a longer head length and flat floors with rounded internal line anglets.

Inverted Cone
Offers a sharp taper ideal for creating mechanical locks in preparations.

End Cutting
Straight Fissure burs creates a preparation with parallel walls and a flat floor. Useful for establishing the periphery of a preparation. Cross-Cuts increase cutting efficiency and facilitate cutting dentin at lower speeds for improved tactile response. Dome Ends create rounded internal line angles to distribute occlusal forces. The FG 256 creates round internal line angles and a flat floor.

Inlay Prep
Tapered Fissure burs creates diverging preparation walls ideal for indirect restorations. Cross-Cuts increase cutting efficiency. Dome Ends create rounded internal line angles to distribute occlusal forces better. Tapered shape helps maintain full length enamel rod margins on convex tooth surfaces.
Occlusal and Lingual Finishing

Egg – 12 Blade
For contouring or placing anatomy on posterior occlusal surfaces. Also suitable for smoothing and shaping anterior lingual surfaces. Available in 12 and 30 blade-count configuration.

Egg – 30 Blade

Bullet – 12 Blade
Ideal for initial definition of fissures and anatomy in posterior teeth. Available in 12 and 30 blade-count configurations.

Round – 12 Blade
Ideal for finishing anterior lingual and posterior occlusal surfaces. Available in 12 and 30 blade-count cutting heads.

Round – 30 Blade
Gingival and Labial Finishing

Needle – 12 Blade
Establishes anatomical pits and fissures in occlusal surfaces. Available in 12 and 30 blade-count configurations.

Needle – 30 Blade

Flame – 12 Blade
Useful in establishing and defining pit and fissure anatomy. Available in 12 blade-count configuration.

Straight Finishing – 12 Blade
Ideal for any instance when a straight, smooth preparation margin is desired or when convenience demands a straight-bladed shape. Available in 12 and 30 blade-count configurations.

Taper Finishing – 6 Blade
Ideal for trimming excess material on anterior labial surfaces or the cervical portion of any tooth. Available in 6, 12, 18 and 30 blade-count configurations, and in Needle point, Round End and Flat End shapes in multiple lengths to match any contouring challenge.

Concave Interproximal – 12 Blade
Ideal for removing excess composite from proximal margins and embrasures. Available in 12 and 24 blade-count configurations.

Concave Interproximal – 24 Blade

Inverted Taper
Useful for obtaining a smooth surface on any preparation with converging preparation walls.

Crown and Bridge Chamfer
Ideal for removing excess composite from proximal margins and embrasures. Available in 12 and 24 blade-count configurations.
Fine Cross Cut
Fine Cross-Cut burs feature traditional head shapes with maximum density cross-cuts in the bur blades to dramatically increase cutting efficiency while simultaneously decreasing undesirable chatter, friction and clogging. Perfect for rapid reduction or crown removal. The slightly roughened preparation surface is ideal for improving micromechanical retention in composite preparations. Fine Cross-Cut burs are available in a wide variety of shapes to meet every clinical situation.
