Spongostan is a sterile, water-insoluble, malleable, porcine-derived gelatin product designed to assist in achieving haemostasis during surgical procedures. Available in both sponge and powder forms, it provides a versatile solution for controlling capillary, venous, and arteriolar bleeding when conventional methods are ineffective or impractical.

Spongostan is indicated for use in surgical procedures (excluding ophthalmic and urologic surgeries) to achieve haemostasis when conventional methods are insufficient. It is suitable for applications in various specialties, including general surgery and dental procedures.
